Imagine a leisurely trip across America's heartland. You slide in the CD Bridges as the soundtrack for your journey. A low rumble and gathering clouds bring a "Summer Storm," the air electric with rising tension, released by an intense burst of rain.
The storm past, you roll across the "Flatlands," remembering bittersweet affairs and sleepless nights as the sun rises over the prairie. As the endless miles of road disappear under your car, your inner journey takes you through memories of love declared and love enduring. You reflect on "The Power in You," on what you have learned from the journey so far.
The mood turns light-hearted with the up-tempo "Love Talk," a teasing monologue demanding that your lover, "gimme some love talk/ cause it's something that I need."
Then as the sun grows heavy, sinking in the west, you feel the melancholy "Sundown Song," and the day ends with a final bluesy "Don't Berate Me" setting a late night mood, notes trailing off into the dark.
The road to Cosmic Debris began fifteen years ago with three people who loved to harmonize together, covering Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young tunes, among others, as they performed in local venues.
Their first original song, "Bridges," represents the mingling of musical bridges and poignant lyrics as the three songwriters blended their individual styles into one eclectic mix. "Bridges" also symbolizes crossing over from covering other writers' songs to writing their own. Since 1995, they have done just that, building a local following of all ages who enjoy their intelligent and melodic songwriting.
Cosmic Debris features the interplay of two acoustic guitars and the shared leads and changing harmonies of three voices, energized by bass and drums. Together, Cosmic Debris offers variety and a unique blend of folky pop, jazzy blues, and strong vibrant harmony.
Let Cosmic Debris provide the soundtrack for your journey.
