A keeper.
author: C. NicholsAn eclectic mix of which Courtney Gains wrote all the songs, and either plays or sings on all but one number, with Shana O'Neil and Robbie McDonald performing some as well. O'Neil has a ravishing, moody voice, and McDonald's single performance had me making a note to see if he has an album of his own out, but it is the tracks featuring Gains singing his own material that really stand out here. Anyone familiar with Courtney Gains' film work will not be surprised to hear that he has a slightly quirky style, and it is a style that is thoroughly engaging and absolutely impossible not to want to sing along with. Plus the guy can rock out. Bring on the next album.
Good Stuff
author: ArissaThe music in this CD is pretty awesome. I've had it in my car CD player for over a week now, and I'm not sick of it yet! Night Blooming Jasmine is my favorite, sets me in a great relaxed mood. No frills or gimmicks, just clean, honest music.
SQUEELING GIRLY TEENAGER!
author: LizzieThese songs are beautiful! I've never heard such talent! When I first listened to Been Forgotten all the way through, I just squealed, you know that kinda high-pitched "Eek! This is so cool!" My favourite has got to be Been Forgotten. Courtney is so talented, not to mention he's got a really unique voice and singing style.
Move over Sheryl Crow, Courtney Gains has Arrived!
author: Ray PetersonCourtney Gains has shown the world his musical talent and I love every second of it. I cant believe the talented Gains can act so brilliantly with characters like the insanely humorous Hans Klopek and the boy who pushes Marty Mcfly in Back to the Future and then switch gears and write such melodic masterpieces. His beautiful song writing ability puts me in a hypnotic trance of bewilderment and awe every time I hear the hits Journeyman and Been Forgotten. Good luck finding a better folk record, because it does not get much better than this compilation of hits.
awesome
