Album Notes

A native of Petal, Mississippi, Courtney began singing at an early age. As a child, he sang solos at his local church. At the age of eight, he was diagnosed with Juvenile Retinoschesis, a rare eye disease that has proved to be both a challenge and a motivation throughout his life. In Junior High and High School, he was a member of both Concert Choir and Showchoir. In addition to competitive singing, Courtney also entertained at many local and state events. After graduation, Courtney began college, where he received a full scholarship from the music department. Again he was a member of the Concert Choir, as well as the Showchoir. It was during his performance schedule with Jones Onstage Showchoir that he was heard and later invited to Nashville to be a part of the vocal band Nickajack. He worked with the band for three years, made several recordings, and worked exclusively with producer Mike Clute. He is now pursuing a solo career, writing his own songs, collaborating with several established writers and singing demos. He recorded his first solo demonstration album, What A Day, in 2004. Along with finishing his Junior year at Belmont University, he just completed the 13 song demo project Burn A Memory with Manning Hollow Music. He continues to pursue his career by networking with other musicians in order to find the producer, the songs, and the marketing strategy that is the most effective for his musical style. He is also giving much thoughtful consideration and researching which non- profit organization battling eye disease would best fit his desire to contribute both his gift of music and his personal experiences. Juvenile Retinoschesis has played such an awesome part in his life. It has been a difficult road, and there have been times when he wanted to give up. Instead, he pressed on. It has shaped him into who he is today, and given him such a different outlook on life. It has made him realize that life is what you make of it. He has always had a purpose. He has always had a vision, even without having the best sight.

Pretty awesome music. I really enjoyed this CD. It seems all we hear these days is who's in love with whom, but the song Kids Out On The Run is dealing with a very real problem.I'm very impressed with the song. It's gut wrenching and honest.Like to hear more of this type of honesty. Thanks for putting together some impressive music!
