ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The word SOUL comes to mind when it comes to the sound of Stefan Couture and the Campfire Orchestra. They take acoustic driven songwriting, big pop hooks, a touch of jazz and baptized it with a little old school funk!!

The Campfire Orchestra is led by nationally respected singer/songwriter, Stefan Couture with his funky acoustic and electric guitar playing, soulful voice, and lyrics; both poetic, real and honest. The Campfire's rhythm section is one of the tightest you could ask for. The low end is captained by the sophisticated and melodic stylings of Chris Ryan on upright and electric bass. Berklee graduate Shawn Leonard ties it together with his in the pocket drumming and percussion. Together, Ryan and Leonard create a seamless groove that can't help but get audiences moving!!

The groove doesn't stop there... Brian Brouillard adds a jazzy, funky tone full of soul and Coltrane-esque power on soprano, alto, and tenor saxophones. John "The Professor" Cook rounds out the sound with his Gershwin meets Herbie Hancock style of virtuoso piano and organ playing. Swaying from classical elements to old school bluesy funk this kid is constantly turning heads and adding to the soup!! The onstage chemistry between Brouillard, Cook and the rest of the Campfire Orchestra is a live dynamic that is pure magic!!

The sound of Stefan Couture and the Campfire Orchestra is timeless and it brings something back to popular music that's been missing for quite sometime. With their thunderous live energy, catchy jams, and songs that make you believe in music again, they are quickly becoming a staple in clubs and listening rooms throughout the east coast. Stefan Couture and the Campfire Orchestra will release their new album, Ghost In The Rearview in late Fall of 2004. From there they plan their full on assault of North America.

Great local music
I was presently surprised by the cd. It's a great buy. I'm looking forward to seeing them live down South sometime.

Leslie

excellent instrumentals
good CD, excellent background music as I work so I like the instrumental aspects most but the words are clear, easy to understand. Good work!

Brian

One of my favorite CD's period. These guys are GREAT !!
I have not heard better music (lyrics, sounds, tones, instruments) come out of my speakers in quite some time. Treat yourself to some soulful tones and music you can get wrapped up in. You won't be disappointed at all. Funky, cool, inspiring with dashes of blues and jazz. These guys have it all. Great quality CD.

Life experience, truth, sincerity-beautiful music and a powerful voice
New sax player adds a gorgeous, dynamic dimension and jazzy sound to the powerful voice of Stefan on this introspective yet fresh set of tracks. Songs are filled with sincerity, life experience and dare I say a new independence in spite of the inevitable subtext of longing for companionship and reminiscence that marks a Campfire Orchestra original. Buy it.

Wow, that CD was great and so are they!
I know this group will always be the best! I am
so happy we had the chance to see them in Portsmouth,
New Hampshire last summer and we will be there again
just to catch the group!!

These guys put their heart&soul into this and it shows
This is without a doubt the best CD I have ever heard. These guys meld together and produce soulful music where the emotions they are playing with are almost tangible. This CD is incredible and a must have for any collection. As good as it is, their live shows are even better, I definately suggest seeing them live.

Unique , refreshing, and well recorded, in a word; excellent
Only once in a great while do you stumble upon a group of talented musicians who play with their hearts and souls, uncorrupted and largely uninfluenced by record industry pressures and standards; in essence doing exactly what they love to do in the way that they love to do it. To find such a group is to find a gem in the rough. Stefan Couture And The Campfire Orchestra is such a gem. Ghost In The Rearview brings together an intricate and varied set of instruments, talent, and song writing abilities and melds them into a cohesive and unique collection of songs that can be listened to over and over again. Each element compliments the other making the whole greater than the sum of it’s parts. The recording is excellent, vocals and instruments are well placed and balanced. In a word; excellent!
