FROM THE MUSICAL DIRECTOR: When you work with the vocal and instrumental musicians who participated in the making of this CD, you quickly run out of superlatives. However, here is an attempt: they are wonderful, kind, generous people, who also happen to be really fine singers and players. Each selection included on this CD was written especially for this choir. The choir responded enthusiastically to the first reading of each piece and affirmed each composer. And yet each performer at this live event was aware that it was never "about the music." It was about what the music is proclaiming: God is alive and at work in this wonderful, raucous, slightly outrageous, diverse, and reverent church. That is why the musicians played the way they did. And, yes, yes, yes, that is why the choir sang the way it did. Blessings on you choir. Nobody deserves a choir like this. In your voices God sings! Bill Thomas
