Winner of the Best Americana Album award in the 2005 San Diego Music Awards, "Wire" is the debut album from The Coyote Problem, a San Diego alt-country rock band. Wire is really the follow up to Bolland's 2002 solo release "Frame", but with a decidedly more rock feel. In 2007 The Coyote Problem would release "California", (and win another Best Americana Album award). "Wire" is the centerpiece of this trio of albums.

England's premier music magazine Uncut gave "Wire" a three star rating, saying it was "a fine roots rock debut, easy to enjoy." San Diego's Troubadour magazine called "Wire" "a master's course in roots rock style...heartfelt songwriting expertise...the perfect soundtrack for a long lonely ride out to the desert". Best Americana Band nominees in the 2004, 2005 and 2006 San Diego Music Awards, and winners of Best Alt Country Band in the 2006 San Diego HAT (Honoring Acoustic Talent) Awards, The Coyote Problem carry on the work Bolland began as a solo artist. Bolland's previous album, "Frame", earned a perfect four star rating in Uncut magazine and a nomination as Best Americana Album in the 2003 San Diego Music Awards. Binding together the loose threads of smart ass country rock, alt country sadness, California harmonies, barn floor back beats and swamp rock slide guitar "Wire" represents the best of the postmodern California alt country rock sound.
