Do you have a passion for Baroque music? Do you love listening in concert to the finest chamber ensembles made up of some of the best classical musicians from the US and abroad—bar none? This music, as heard on NPR's Performance Today, is a stunning collection of music by the baroque masters. Lead by Cactus Pear Music Festival's Artistic Director and former concertmaster of the San Antonio Symphony Stephanie Sant'Ambrogio and joined by some of the most talented chamber musicians to be heard on stage, this is a wonderful collection of jewels from the Baroque repertoire.
Let yourself slip away on the silvery voice of soprano Kristen Watson as she performs Handel's beautiful "Gloria in excelsis Deo". Be transported on the incredible musical acrobatics of Principal Trumpet of the San Antono Symphony John Carroll playing Finger's incredibly difficult but compelling Sonata in C major for trumpet, two violins, cello and harpsichord—and laugh at his comedic introduction to this piece. Be mesmerized by the baroque beauty of the music of Corelli, Rameau, Telemann and Bach, among others.
