ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
In an age of fleeting success and temporary notions, Chris Pureka is an artist of substance, armed with an eye for detail and an emotional intelligence that can switch from withering to compelling with a subtle inflection. Her third studio album, How I Learned To See In the Dark, adds bold new elements to the base she has built over her eight-year career: non-traditional percussion, lyrical abstraction, a new unrestrained vocal quality, and Pureka''s choice of co-producer (longtime friend Merrill Garbus of tUnE-YaRds) all signal an exploration of broader musical soundscapes.

Hey Chris- Just received your new CD in the mail...I am very impressed with all your songs. I hope to release my own first album through CD Baby within the next year..Thanks for the inspiration. I just turned 54 and have written 21 new tunes in the last 2 years..If I can get half of them on a new cd I will die happy. In any case congrats on your latest album, and to all of you out there reading this now you should invest in Chris's new musical endeavor. If you are a true fan of this musical genre ,its a must addition to your library. Rock on....e

How I learned to See in the Dark!!!!!
Chris- This is the best album that you've created in my opinion. I love your new connection. Beautiful and Inspiring. It is playfully artistic and open for interpretation. I am thrilled to have a copy and to be able to gain something new each time I hear it...
