Album Notes

The Crafty Foxes forge timeless acoustic music that features folk lyricism, pop melodies and Latin, funk and African rhythms. With expertly-crafted songs, emotive soulful vocal harmonies and virtuostic improvisational skills, the band transcends boundaries and creates a completely unique and exciting musical experience. The group features Sam Bevan on upright bass, piano and vocals, Gawain Mathews on guitar and backing vocals and Mary Pitchford on fiddle on vocals. Their debut CD features 9 original compositions and two reintrepretations of folk classics "Darlin' Corey" and "Go Down Old Hannah", as well as guest appearances by David Grisman and Joe Craven.

This is a very interesting CD- Folk and world rhythms combined.I am a deadhead and love David Grisman (quartet). He sounds great! This CD is great. No pictures of the band though...too bad.Hopefully when their website is up they'll show themselves... I fully recommend a good listen a few times.

this is a lovely album, just brilliant. sam bevan is remarkably talented, as is the rest of the band. I especially fancy the song "close to dawn"..its like celtic folk meets horace. (the roman poet) I highly recommend you buy this album for everyone and their uncle. I am looking forward to great work from Bev 'N' Breakfast Music in the future.
