notes
"Souls Within the Veil" was composed to commemorate the centennial of W. E. B. Du Bois' The Souls of Black Folk. After one hundred years the book sets a high standard for those who aspire to compose, regardless of the medium in which they choose to express themselves. The compositional craft displayed by Du Bois has inspired Craig to compose a musical score which attempts to capture Souls' timeless social commentary.

about our soul
author: vickie f.harlem, march 7, 2007 i believe that our souls are a puzzle and we have to look for the missing pieces to be able to grow up. it is not about love, is about being grateful for giving me the missing piece that my puzzle/soul was looking for. thank you. lady, lady
Ambitious and rich compositions, hot solos.
author: Jeff StocktonTrombonist Craig Harris assembled 10 top jazz musicians to perform a song cycle of substance and gravity based on the African American experience in the United States. No pretention, just ambition, rich music, and jaw-dropping solos, particularly from Steve Coleman and the great Hamiett Bluiett. Worth every penny.
