About the CD
Fast Food Automaton is a collection of works covering two "creative periods" separated by more than a decade: 1989-91 and 2005-06. The musical selections here draw from a wide range of influences and persuasions, from rock to jazz to classical music. Given the title(an 'automaton', if you don't know the word, is a mechanized human), and another piece: Five Bangatelles, which I sandwiched in between the regular tunes, the CD has a kind of robotic feel or underlying motif.
I try to make each of my CDs unique in some way, and this one is, if nothing else(besides the 'Mr Machine' vibe), the only CD of my now 18 that has vocals on it(the title tune and 'Big Bang') My vocals at that.
Okay then. Hope you pick up a copy of Fast Food Automaton. It was a lot of fun performing and recording this music(though a lot of WORK too!)And I think it's a fun CD to listen to-and so will you, hopefully. You can sample all the tunes before buying. All guitars, bass, keyboards, drum sounds and vocals(on 2 tunes)by moi, plus the mixing and so forth. I even did the cover drawing as well. Happy listening!
