About the Music
As the title suggests(okay, spells out)this is a remake of sorts. And yes I borrowed the "redux" from Francis Ford Coppola(Apocolypse Now Redux). The original Spring into Swing was recorded, for the most part, on March 21st of 1999. Listening back recently I found that maybe 5 of the tunes I felt still "worked". So I kept them: Lester Sleeps In alt take, Judy's Song, Floundering in Suburbia, Heat and Serve and Maxine. There were two solo guitar pieces on the original, of which you hear a new version here, and a piece called "Kimber Lee" which here is a funk version called Ubangi mi Bangi. And no, I don't know where that title came from...
The other things I just pulled out of my damn-near repository of tunes, feeling that they rounded out this project as far as the players on them. What is this thing called Dave(written for David Hoffman, who plays all the parts here), AB Positive and Ruby Memoire. Ruby Memoire is itself an anagram of "I Remember You" and the music is based on that great old standard. Just me on guitars.
Well anyway, for all of us involved in these sessions old and new, hope you enjoy the music.
