Album Notes

Richard "The Crawdaddy" Dance was conceived on a steam-laden Florida coastline, raised up by two big sweet mommas on fried mullet, cheese grits, greens, and sweet potato pie. He was schooled on rockgod gunslingers, electric blues-stringers, sweet soul singers, and New Orleans rhythm bringers.

The Crawdaddy has toured the world on his own terms for 30 years, layin' down a pure Black & White Groove that's funky, bluesy, and hard-rockin, all rolled into one thick & tasty gumbo.

For decades he took it to the streets of Singapore, Bangkok, Sydney, Brisbane, London, Amsterdam, Munich, Nairobi, Dubai, and of course across the good ole' USA.

He's opened shows for BB King, Tina Turner, and The Fifth Dimension. He's shared the stage and studio with players from the bands of Count Basie, Dionne Warwick, Lyle Lovett, and Dr. John.

The Crawdaddy says: "My goal at this stage in the Game is to keep creating studio recordings of the goodtime music I heard growing up in the Florida Panhandle and New Orleans. The tunes I write or interpret are smothered in special sauses from Memphis, Austin, Augusta, and Muscle Shoals, all for your cold-blooded pleasure. So turn the disc up and enjoy!"

And the story behind the moniker: Back in the 80's and 90's, Richard "The Crawdaddy" Dance threw the largest crawfish festival in the Southwest United States. For twelve years Arizona Crawfest raised thousands of dollars for Phoenix Day Child Development Center and Phoenix Youth at Risk, supporting the Phoenix music scene in the process.
