Prepare to Witness the Evolution as San Diego underground legend, Crhymes, releases his second
solo full-length album, “Evolution of Crhymes” on 11.11.11 worldwide. Delivering a unique blend of
classic boom-bap sounds with contemporary hood-style rap, this project represents a return to the true
essence of Hip Hop. “Evolution of Crhymes” is designed to be listened to as an entire album – bringing
together the multi-faceted dimensions of life into what can easily be deemed a new Hip Hop classic; the
use of a single producer, Evolve One, and the completion of the entire recording and mastering at
FullClip Studios in San Diego, California adds an even stronger cohesive element to the album.
Crhymes’ fresh sound, coupled with his rather divisive lyrics take listeners on a journey as they literally
witness the growth and development of a young man struggling with the all too familiar trials and
tribulations of America’s inner-city youth. While extremely controversial, “Evolution of Crhymes” manages
to do what main stream Hip Hop does not – it offers an honest and in-depth look into the realities of life,
rather than focusing on wealth and super-stardom for subject matter.
The introductory track, “Searching” appropriately opens up the album with a soulful bass line and fast-
paced flow that immediately draws the listener in to Crhymes’ dark yet beautifully broken psyche.
Followed by the title track, “Evolution of Crhymes,” the album delves into the scary world of parental
drug addiction, abusive foster care and destructive gang-banging that make up the past from which
Crhymes has “evolved.” The album manages to not take itself too seriously, however, with lighter tracks
like “Killa Pussy” and “Feelin’ That” which bring a welcome respite from the reality driven material in
many of the other songs.
“Evolution of Crhymes” is being released in conjunction with “The Self Made, Self Paid Tour,” taking
Crhymes and fellow San Diego artist Lady Xplicit throughout the Southwest during Fall 2011. The
album features collaborations with notable names like San Quinn, Black Mikey and Tha COR to name a
few. “Evolution of Crhymes” can be found for purchase of hard copy and/or digital download on iTunes,
CDBaby, Rhapsody, Amazon.com, Spotify, Napster, Facebook Music and Crhymes.com on 11.11.11
worldwide. Check out www.youtube.com/MistaCrhymes for an exclusive look at the first hit single off
of “Evolution of Crhymes,” “Sun Don’t Shine,” featuring Bay-area legend San Quinn and up-and-coming
Cleveland, Ohio artist Caine.
Here some real feedback from real fans of Crhymes..
"This album is on another level. Just wait until everyone else gets a chance of listening to it. I already know most of the tracks by heart." - Marco Castillo
"I heard the "leak" this joint is crazy...don't sleep. The whole thing is dope, but I really dig Killer Pussy, Sun Don't Shine, Smoke This...shit the whole thing is really cohesive.. Bangs!" - Andrew Evolve Moberg
"If the video single (Ya'll Don't Understand >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFGwkV6pNyQ&feature=related) is any indicator of what one of San Diego's most hustling hungry rapper's new album will be, then Crhymes fans will be in for a shock. Gone is the Crhymes who once embraced the Bone thugs and harmony quick tongue flip. Always the business man, now enters Crhymes with a very Chicano sounding rap style and beat. Although not my cup of tea it leaves one to wonder if this lyrical move will finally give this rapper the attention and sales he's after. One can never count Crhymes out, he's a venture capitalist who is a rapper, graffic designer, promoter, Internet radio station owner, and now video editor." - Laila H. Aziz
Keep a look out for the lyrical beast known as Crhymes. 2011 we will see the release of his latest full length L.P. "Evolution of Crhymes" Produced by: Evolve one with feature from San Quinn, Caine of The Life Records, Black Mikey, Young gee, Big Ev and more.
