Album Notes

For the last few years fans as well as music professionals have been asking for an original band with chops, who have something to say in their music and with a "real" rock sound like rock and roll used to have...wait no longer because Crimson Fool has answered the call! Crimson Fool has raw, aggressive and ballsy rock and roll crashing back onto the airwaves and they make no apologies for it! This five man, non stop music machine has the bluesy rock feel of Motley Crue and Aerosmith with the wall of metallic sound feel of AC/DC or Guns and Roses. Bad-a** rock and roll is back and it's name is Crimson Fool! Crimson Fool has a sound all their own and will adrenalize you from their debut single "My Sick Love Song" all the way to the end of their newest album "Sinergy." Recorded in the blues and blues rock city of La Crosse, Wisconsin, Crimson Fool had the honor and opportunity to work with Grammy winning studio engineer and owner of Soundstrations Studio, Brett Huus. "Sinergy" will RAWK YER A%# OFF and is worth checking out!

Peter Hans - Lead guitar

Peter was born and raised in Minnesota and had a passion and understanding of music long before he had ever picked up an instrument. As a child, drawing pictures of guitars, microphones, and P.A. columns sparked his interest to learn how to play music and follow a path laid before him. In his elementary years, Peter was inspired by his older brother and would listen to him play in garage bands...and this is where it all began! His passion for the guitar was all consuming and intoxicating. After graduating High School, Peter began to play in bands and has played for a variety of original rock groups all over Minnesota and other states such as Colorado, Florida and California. In college Peter studied music theory and music therapy and since has even given giving guitar lessons as well as volunteered his time and talents to enhance the lives of people with physical and mental disabilities, by performing at Health Centers and Nursing homes. Peter Hans is a highly seasoned live and studio musician, and has performed concerts opening for national acts such as Cheap Trick, Joan Jett, Lynard Skynard and Hank Williams name only a few.

Peter is a passionate musician who can rock anything with strings on it! Peter's versitile and complex style is unique and creative, giving Crimson Fool their energenic sound! But... when Peter hits the stage, he becomes "Guitwaro" - A super rock guitar villian who creates musical mayhem whereever he goes. With "Jessica" (his guitar that is possesed by the spirits of guitarists past) Guitwaro is able to collect the energy and life force of listeners through the screams of his guitar, giving him immortality while feeding his guitar "Jessica" with greater strength and power of persuasion. Together Guitwaro and "Jessica" create a mass hysteria of music driven fanatics, following Guitwaro's every command. From banging their heads to "throwing the sign" of rock-n-roll, Guitwaro has total control of their minds, hearts and will.

David Lee - Bassist

David grew up in a small town in a very musical family. David grew up listening to his dad played guitar, keyboards and accordian, while his brothers played guitar and perfomed in coffee houses throughout their college years. David not only had a passion for music, but writing as well and began writing poetry while in high school. David moved to La Crosse, Wisconsin (secret music mecca of the United States) and because of his love of the band Motley Crue (and bassist/lyricist Nikki Sixx's songwriting ability) at age 18 David started playing bass and honing his songwriting skills. David expanded his musical knowlege by playing in cover bands and exploring blues, funk and jazz bass. David ended up meeting and teaming up with guitar virtuoso Peter Hans, and they instantly became friends, forming a bond that you can still see and hear today.

Many songs written, musical styles played and life experiences later, David found his own "style" of playing and songwriting, and financed the recording of Crimson Fool's album "Sinergy" at Brett Huus's Grammy winning - Soundstrations Studios in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Although David is a well known performer, producer and studio musician, but very few know of David Lee's other personality..."Faultline". After David was misdiagnosed with insanity because of his "outside of the box" way of thinking, he had undergone thousands of hours of psycho analysis, causing him to learn clinical psychology through what can only be described as osmosis. During these sessions, David took refuge in another personality known as Faultline; a crazy rock bassist who can psychologically read individuals wants and deepest desires. Faultline's deep bass riffs and booming grooves can actually cause earthquakes, as well as adrenaline to be released and flow freely through the bodies of whoever hears his bass. With hearts racing, shallow breathing and senses heightend, Faultine can cause women to literally be swept off thier feet and fall in love with the music of Crimson Fool...when he makes the earth actually move for them!

Chad Wilkinson - Rhythm Guitarist

Chad's first divergence from top 40 music occurred in grade school. Synchronicity by the Police was released and the track Synchronicity II was a little darker than what he was accustomed. The sound was not main stream, but he knew he liked it. Exploring this new sound he searched for other artists. He convinced his parents to buy him AC/DC "Dirty Deeds" and Black Sabbath "Paranoid". AC/DC's rhythm driven rock absolutely blew him away, and Chad purchased AC/DC albums as often as he could afford until he had them all. Chad felt Malcolm Young’s rhythm guitar playing was almost hypnotic. No gadgets - just one man, a guitar, an amp, and pure tone! Malcolm’s playing has been the greatest influence on Chad's writing and playing. You can hear Chad's driving rhythm guitar that is now his very own style...a sound and style that was derived from the great Malcolm Young.

Chad picked up the guitar at 21 years of age, a little later than most, but has never looked back. Chad has played bass, rhythm guitar, and a some lead guitar as well. Spending most of his time in the rhythm section, he honed his skills and developed his style by playing in rock cover bands like: Tin Man, Johnny on the Spot, Audiowise, a blues cover /original band called Last To Leave, and in the 80’s cover band - SellOut. Now with Crimson Fool Chad stays true to his early influences. A self proclaimed “gear slut” he has more musical gadgets and toys than most, providing Crimson Fool with "Second To One Recording Studios" for not only recording but rehearsal space... but when the lights go down and it is time to play, there are no gadgets - just a man, a guitar and an amp...and he is transformed into - "Dr. Overdrive". When college physics professor Chad Wilkinson was caught in an experiment gone wrong, he was turned into rouge guitarist Dr. Overdrive. Driven by a heart of rock and roll, Dr. Overdrive is metal guitar parameshed with flesh, and scientific calculation wrapped in a passion for out of control crowds. Dr. Overdrive has the ability to project and control raw human emotion with the sound of his driving guitar, making audiences become loyal followers of him and Crimson Fool. These loyals fans will do whatever is asked of them and are known as the "No Rules Fools".

Scotty K. - Larger than life frontman

Scotty K. has always been the epitomy of "cool", good times and living on the edge. With a career in his early twenties as an entertainer on a cruise ship, Scotty learned early on how to win over a crowd and "get the party started". With a look that captures the attention of an audience combined with perfect pitch and vocal attitude, Scotty was a natural as a frontman for a rock band. After leaving the cruise ship industry, Scotty got his start by singing with the Minneapolis based rock band Mystic. After two years of perfecting his rock and roll stage show and vocal "chops", Scotty moved to Rochester and toured for 3 years with the band Toyz until he was scouted and asked to join Midwest Coast as their lead singer and percussionist. Scotty later moved to Wisconsin and became lead vocalist for the 80's show band Flashback. David Lee had been looking for the right man to be the frontman for Crimson Fool and happened to check out a rock club where Scotty was performing. David was blown away by Scotty's vocal ability, larger than life stage presense and how the women seemed to be mesmerized by him. Only a week after being approached and asked to join Crimson Fool, Scotty entered the studio and laid vocals for their debut single - "My Sick Love Song."

It later came to light to the guys of Crimson Fool that Scotty really WAS one of them. Scotty had been keeping a secret from them...Scotty was "Vox". With the power of vocalkinetics, Vox can control and generate various forms of energy and move objects with his voice! The most natural place for Vox was on stage in a rock band where he could supercharge his powers by obsorbing the energy of the crowd and then place a forcefield over them, keeping them captive to his voice and words. Off stage, Vox uses his voice to knock down the doors of radio stations and major label executives, and then generates a flow of positive energy to influence radio stations for airplay of Crimson Fool's music and positive outcomes of record deals offered by major labels.

David Brown - Drums/Percussion

David has been playing music from age 6 and is a very versatile drummer/percussionist. David not only reads and writes music, but has played a wide variety of musical styles in performance groups ranging from symphony and pit orchestras, to jazz and of course...rock bands. He has distinguished himself as a professional who brings energy and passion to every project he works on, and has the ability to create a drum line that enhances the total feel of the song he is working on. As a studio musician, David's no non-sense, organized and well rehearsed approached has proven David to be a very sought after for live playing as well studio drumming on many projects. David has designed and built several musical instruments including the vintage Ludwig drums he has restored and uses for live performances and studio recording.

While playing with Crimson Fool's Guitarist Peter Hans in their acoustic classic rock band Oliver Twist, David was asked to come on board with Crimson Fool as their drummer. David proved to be not only an amazing drummer, stepping in and laying drum tracks to songs he had only heard a few times, but a prefect fit for Crimson Fool from his positive attitude and laid back way about him to his aggressive playing and tasty fills and off beats! Innitally unbeknownst to Crimson Fool, and another reason that David Brown was a "perfect fit" with the band, was the fact that when David is behind his drums he becomes "Nimbus", controller of lightning and thunder! With the powerful beats of his drums, Nimbus can create a thunderstorm of frenzy, strong enough to level a city or completely capture the spirit, mind and will of any crowd! Nimbus also has the power to destroy music critics with a "negativity seeking" lightning created from the mere strike his cymbals.
