CRIS GUNTHER is a creative 'force of nature'. Whether it be Pop, Rock, Soul, MPB, or Dance, there is no genre that is off-limits, and no forbidden fruit that won't be enjoyed in his musical garden of exploration. Gunther has trained with vocal coach to the stars, Don Lawrence, famous for working with Lady Gaga, Bono, Christina Aguilera, and Mick Jagger. In addition to, working with such diverse musical talents as producer, Fab Dupont (Shakira 'Waka Waka'), musical legend, Mic Murphy/The System (writer of the American #1 hit 'Don't Disturb This Groove'), and, Verve/Universal Recording Artist, Lucy Woodward (BMI Songwriter Award Winner for the International top 5 hit, 'There's Gotta Be More To Life'). Gunther was also chosen to perform in a Songwriters Hall Of Fame Showcase in NYC in 2002 (Lady Gaga was also chosen for the same showcase, before her rise to international stardom) that appeared in the pages of Billboard Magazine.
Mr. Gunther has since moved to Brazil, the country of his dreams, and has released two cds (2007's FALL INTO THE OPEN, and, 2010's BACK+FORTH {THE DEMO+SESSIONS}, and, he also performed seventeen shows for his debut tour sponsored by Cultura Inglesa, one of Brazil's most well-respected English language schools. And, in further preparation for his next career evolution, Gunther is preparing his most ambitious, commercial project to date, ANCHOR & WINGS, 2011-2012. A collection of eleven, brand new, original songs, with three spoken-word interludes, two bonus tracks in Portuguese, and, his first set of music videos to showcase Gunther’s visual appeal, and his conceptual imagery.
This project is the culmination of years of blood, sweat, and tears, and taking risks that most people never dare attempt in a lifetime. The music is so inviting, and the energy so infectious that Jovem Pan, Brazil's most famous pop, radio station chain, has jumped on-board and is promoting his work through commercials, and free, public shows. The timing is ripe again for an international, multi-dimensional, male artist that goes beyond the superficial cliches, and, has been sculpted out of pure poetry, passion, hard work, and talent that oozes out of every pore of his musical body. An appeal so diverse and vast, that it has the potential to reach all political persuasions, ages, races, genders, orientations, and, all four corners of the international globe...
