Heart startin', foot stompin', faith buildin', hand clappin', church rockin',
in yo' face with the sound of grace - funky music fo' yo' soul!
For the past 8 years Crispin has been reaching the hearts of people through their unique musical style that unites funk, jazz, and neo-soul. DiSilva, leader of Crispin, played on the professional jazz scene for a number of years before getting Crispin together, and has worked with such artists as Alison Krauss, James Taylor, and B.B. King. All of which has brought a wide range of musical styles that synthesize on the stage with Crispin.
Crispin can get an audience on its feet with ease, and despite the Christian slant and theological message, the band has been invited to play on secular stages and at annual music festivals around the country. Crowd favorites include "Fishers of Men," and the best renditions of "I'll Fly Away" and "When The Saints Go Marching In" this side of New Orleans.
The Fresh Noel Takes 12 traditional Christmas Carols and funkifies them--turning them on their heads with fresh new arrangements that are sure to get you in the Christmas spirit.
Included with "The Fresh Noel" is a top secret cookie recipe that has kept fans wanting more: more Crispin music and more cookies.

If you're looking to bring a little funk (the good kind) into your holiday season, this collection of songs can help you put the pep in your step. With 12 superbly produced Christmas classics, this one kicks it in to high gear right out of the gate and keeps the pace up throughout. The musical approach is a tasteful fusion of jazz and funky pop that is upbeat but not in your face, busy but not overcrowded. Using a wide array of percussion instruments that back up the bass and accentuate the tightly knit grooves, this stands out as a very modern take on some old classics, but one that also won't sound dated anytime soon. It's not often that you hear "Little Drummer Boy" turn into an all out free form jam, but upon hearing it build and eventually crescendo, it emits a sense of festivity that is impermeable this time of year.
