Hip-hop is an international phenomenon stretching over continents and cultures. This is something that Washington, D.C. based emcee CRISTOPOLIS is very much aware of and actively participates in. Throughout his lifetime he has to one degree or another directly been a part of Hip-hop culture by means of B-boying, Djing, Graffiti writing and for the last 7 years song writing, recording and performing his music. Being of Latin origins has also added to CRISTOPOLIS' musical arsenal allowing him to write and perform in both English and Spanish, something he pursues actively.

Born and raised in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, he has grown up to and has an inclination towards hardcore east coast beats and rhyme patterns. Nonetheless he considers that much of the music currently coming out of the west coast underground scene is the cutting edge in hip-hop. CRISTOPOLIS is emphatic in his opinion that it is not where the music comes from but how good it is which is important; the determining factors being quality, originality, creativity and subject matter.

Standing strong by his belief that music is a universal language capable of bridging cultural gaps CRISTOPOLIS listens to a wide variety of different musical genres old and new. He also actively participates in Hip-hop movements throughout Latin America, Europe and at home in the States.
