Album Notes

Jimmy Crockett has been playing music since the age of twelve. His influences are Marvin Gay, Motown, Steely Dan, BB King, Ramsey Lewis, Chicago, Elton John, and James Taylor. He began touring throughout Northern California with such bands as Rare Form and Bare Bones. With his focus on keyboards, vocals, and his ability to compose stylish soulful tunes, he has completed his first of many cd’s. This cd is entitled “Feelin’ Good” (produced by Micky Hynes & recorded at Paradise Studios and Twelvetone Studios) and it does just that...

Combine that with Jerry Jennings (guitarist / writer) who’s capturing, melodic tone brings out that soulful feel. In a variety of musical projects, Jerry has extensively toured the US, the Far East, and Europe. His influences are Steely Dan, Eric Clapton, George Benson, Jeff Beck, Mark Farner, Weather Report, and Pink Floyd, just to name a few. On his latest album, Shortcut to the Center (produced by rock legend Ronnie Montrose), Jerry has styles that range from classic fusion, to reggae, to melodic rock, to a style that can only be called ‘dan’. He has released three cd’s, authored six instruction books, and owns Logic Surge Studios, a project studio in Sacramento.

"I met Jimmy Crockett five years ago when he asked me to produce some of his songs. When I first heard his music I felt that he was a great lyricist & songwriter combined with an extremely melodic / rhythmic vocal quality. We have collaborated on several songs that I feel will be hits in the contemporary market. Jimmy is a great untapped source of talent that is soon to be unleashed and I would endorse any endeavors he is involved in."
- Roger Smith, Tower of Power's Keyboardist / Songwriter
