Crossroads Fellowship is passionate about winning their city for Christ. Jeremy Porras, the music pastor at Crossroads, has spent a lot of time writing songs that have come right out of the sermons by senior pastor Chuck Milian. The title track is a great example "I Can See A Place" where Chuck challenged the church to pray for the city like never before, and from that experience this song was born. The lyrics are visionary about what a city would look like if the church would rise up and reach out to the lost and hurting around them. The chorus culminates in a passionate prayer to "open our eyes to see others as you (Christ) do... out of compassion - drive us to action." And that's it right there - what good is our faith if it never drives us to action?
This song was also delivered well by vocalist Shenette Jones who not only is a gifted vocalist, but a passionate leader in the church.
Turned My Life Around is probably the #1 song from this album that you'll hear other churches singing. Sung by Shenette Jones and Steve Gray, you'll want to hit replay for sure! Steve's passion for the Lord comes through on the end when he takes us to a new place in worship while recapping the chorus.
You also won't want to miss the ending of Meet Me Here. This piano and orchestral driven song is one that helps us express our desiree to be in God's presence. The concluding instrumental tag is sure to give you a moment to dwell in God's presence as the orchestra and piano plays on.
There are many other great features to list (including a great band with Ken Demery on guitar and Dale Baker [drummer for Sixpence None the Richer]), but I guess you'll just need to pick up the album and check it out for yourself!
