notes
Carolyn Cruso is an acclaimed hammered dulcimer player who has gained national recognition for her recordings. Her style is unusually lyrical and her material is largely original. John Diliberto of the nationally syndicated radio program ECHOES, has described her compositions as "sounding like they emerge from ancient forests," which accurately accounts for the natural world being a strong inspiration for her. She has been writing and peforming for fifteen years and is also a singer/songwriter who is quickly making a name for herself with her "intricate musical poetry" (Eugene Weekly). Cruso also is an accomplished flute player. Her performances are intimate and "she holds a crowd's attention with her quiet and graceful ways." (Cashmere Record).

"Wonderfully melodic, emotional and deceptively complex.”

author: Kent DrummondAs a struggling player of the hammered dulcimer, it's always nice to be able to listen to an accomplilshed artist. My wife rides dressage routines to some of the tunes.
Where has this CD been all my life?
author: Duncan RichardsTransformation is one of the most upbeat, well crafted musical collections I have heard in a long time. I discovered this on PRI's Echoes radio program, bought the CD based on one song and the CDBaby review, and have thoroughly enjoyed the entire album. Note, my tastes lie in instrumental rather than sung or spoken lyrics, so if you want singing, this CD may not be for you, but it certainly was for me! Thanks to Ms. Cruso and CDBaby!!
