Carolyn Cruso is an acclaimed hammered dulcimer player who has gained national recognition for her recordings. Her style is unusually lyrical and her material is largely original. John Diliberto of the nationally syndicated radio program ECHOES, has described her compositions as "sounding like they emerge from ancient forests," which accurately accounts for the natural world being a strong inspiration for her. She has been writing and peforming for fifteen years and is also a singer/songwriter who is quickly making a name for herself with her "intricate musical poetry" (Eugene Weekly). Cruso also is an accomplished flute player. Her performances are intimate and "she holds a crowd's attention with her quiet and graceful ways." (Cashmere Record).
