Born in Chicago to a music family, Ken Crutchfield first picked up drumsticks at the age of two, so it is easy to understand why his performance on MIDNIGHT RENDEZVOUS has such maturity and depth to it. His early influences included Max Roach, Art Blakley, Joe Morello and Tony Williams. Crutchfield began his professional recording career in high school and later attended the American Conservatory of Music. While attending school he also played in the pit orchestras of many musicals that came to town. He eventually landed on Broadway with “Ain't Misbehavin',” and has been playing and recording non-stop since (oh by the way, he is also a poet, playwright, actor and teacher). The lead track, “Tonight We Love,” is cool and catchy, while the title track weaves a sensual web that captures and holds the attention... we also like "Stop Breaking My Heart" and "The Sky Is Falling." A talent like Ken Crutchfield's just can't be ignored, go ahead and accept the invitation to his rendezvous.
