"Premonition" is the debut album from the Denver-based death metal band Cryogen. Recorded at MindCycle Studios, owned by singer/guitarist Ryan Conner, Premonition presents an American perspective on European melodic metal - adding a darker edge to a sound made famous by bands such as In Flames, Soilwork, Dark Tranquility, and others.

Formed in February 2004, Cryogen is a reaction to the decidedly simplistic metal of the late 1990's. Ryan Conner (Vocals, Rhythm Guitar), Matt Lyon (Bass), and Matt Benson (Drums) of then Forever Broken joined with Brian Sawyer (Lead Guitar) to create a sound unique within both the local and international metal scenes. Cryogen's primary focus lies with combining tastefully complex instrumental work with insightful lyrical content. Half of the tracks on "Premonition" consist of reworked songs from the Forever Broken days (Corrupt Vision, Behind the Fall, Cycle of Mind, No Choice), while the other half are suggestive of Cryogen's future musical direction.

A synthesis of anger and intelligence, "Premonition" stands to elevate Cryogen's status within the underground metal scene to a national level. Adding to this a punishing live show, Cryogen is a band not to be ignored!
