Album Notes

Jazz up your holiday party with clever new versions of classic Christmas songs. Captain Snowball and the Ho Ho Ho Band mix in a dash of humor and plenty of spirit into this fun Christmas CD that features lots of saxophone.

New twists on old Christmas classics include

It Came Upon A Midnight Clear - laid-back groove with an extended saxophone jam session, plus steel drums!

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen - The gentlemen get funky in 5/4 time

O Holy Night - punked out with lots of guitar distortion

O Christmas Tree/Angels We Have Heard On High - 2 songs at the same time in a bossa nova style

Joy to the World - funky sax, funky bass, funky beat

If you thought Mannheim Steamroller and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra had a unique take on Christmas music, wait until you hear Captain Snowball! This is great Christmas music to add to your collection.

All songs arranged by Kevin Pike.

REVIEWS

great jazz and rock versions - love that sax
author: Paul Neeley
This is great! The saxaphonist is really creative (sometimes overdubbed to give several musical lines), the guitarist really rocks, the double bass player really swings, and the drummer really grooves. I've got 100 Christmas music CDs and this one goes in the Top 10 - a real treat and thoroughly enjoyable.
