Cameron Steele (lead vocals/piano/guitar) has been playing the piano, guitar, and singing since the age of 6. He released his first album when he was 18 years old entitled "Captured by Your Kiss" which sold in stores such as Tower Records and others throughout the USA. After serving a mission in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Cameron released his second album, "When I See Your Face" which became a best seller throughout the Midwest.
Now 24, Cameron writes songs in a variety of styles ranging from pop, to alternative, to soft rock and religious music. He also speaks fluent Spanish and has written songs in that language as well. During the past 3 years he has written over 112 songs, and has performed concerts all around the United States.
After the success of his second album, Cameron Steele wanted to take his message to the next level. So, he brought together some very talented friends and brothers and created The CORNERSTONE Project.
Eric Makeli Scholer (bass guitar/vocals) has been best friends with Cameron for a long time. Makeli, the "Tall Hawaiian" is 24 years old and served a mission in Mexico City, Mexico. His father is from Long Island, NY and his mother is from Honolulu, Hawaii. He was born in Wisconsin and grew up in Ohio. When he's not on tour with Cornerstone, Makeli plays Lacrosse for the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.
Troy Dowling (lead guitar) "Special T" was born in Sioux Falls, SD and was a roommate of Cameron's at Rick's College. Now 23, Troy's love for music started very early when a guitar was given to him as a gift when he was but a wee lad. In his teen years, he became a drummer in various bands in high school. While serving his mission in Santa Maria, Brazil, he used his guitar as a missionary tool. Soon thereafter, he began to seriously play the guitar and has ever since.
Kirk McKnight (drums) "Captain Kirk" is a true renaissance man. He is an aspiring screenwriter, holds a Marketing Degree from BYU, is hysterically funny and is one of a very few people who can correctly spell Djembe (A conga-like drum). This 25yo grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada and served a mission in Neuquen, Argentina.
