Album Notes

Conscious Structure is a fusion of styles often compared to bands such as Nine Inch Nails, Portishead, Radiohead, Gary Numan, Curve, The Cure, Massive Attack and Tori Amos.

Conscious Structure is known for incorporating a live rhythm section with lush electronics and a live cello section into textures ranging from dreamy dark rock to heavy industrial, to trip hop to new wave revival.

Based in Washington, DC, Conscious Structure features multi instrumentalist and cellist Dave Belazis, pianist, violinist and lead vocalist Tenoya Bennett, guitarist Zach Davis, cellist David Thomas and drummer Ernesto Perez.

The band broke into the DC music scene in 2001. In 2002, their album Non-Human Figure was released and Conscious Structure continued to build their following playing a variety of venues from DC's U Street corridor to CBGB's Gallery in NYC. Now in 2007 Conscious Structure has released a new single The Moment and a full length second album, Universal Antithesis featuring 13 original songs.



BAND MEMBERS

DAVE BELAZIS
Instruments: Cello, Guitar, Bass, Keyboards, Vocals, Programming and Production
Dave Belazis began his musical career on the cello and has since branched out into
a variety of instruments. He also does CS's studio production and is responsible for
many disturbing sounds heard on the albums.

TENOYA BENNETT
Instruments: Voice, Piano, Keyboards, Violin
Tenoya Bennett had music in her life very early on. First studying violin at age 9 and then branching into piano at 14, her dynamic vocals are an essential part of Conscious Structure's trademark sound.

ZACH DAVIS
Instruments: Guitar, Piano
Zach Davis started his musical endeavors on the piano, moving into guitar in his teens. Zach rounds out CS's sound with his wide array of unique guitar tones, from the subtle, organic tones of his vintage 1966 Guild Starfire, to screaming lead tones and modulated textures from his Gibson Les Paul.

DAVID THOMAS
Instruments: Cello, Guitar
David Thomas began his study on the guitar becoming an accomplished player in both jazz and rock styles. Always fascinated by the unique tonality of the cello, he took up cello as his second instrument. In 2006 David joined CS's unique live lineup.

ERNESTO PEREZ
Instruments: Drums, Percussion, Programming
Ernesto Perez is a one man percussion machine. He seamlessly integrates synthetic
textures and acoustic textures into his intricate rhythms. How does he do it? Well,
voodoo. No, really, we can't tell you.
