Album Notes

Carol and David have both been writing music since those angst filled teen years. They joined forces in 1997 when they discovered two voices were richer than one and have been writing, co-writing and performing together ever since. Performing mainly original songs which chronicle the joys and sorrows of life as well as filling the troubadour's of critical commentary on life today! Their well-crafted lyrics embrace a wide range of topics and emotions reflecting the celebrations and struggles of daily life, as well as the ability to laugh as ourselves. Their first recording, "Simple Pleasures", was released on CD in June, 2000. They recently finished recording their second CD, "Some Things You Do for Love", which will be released in May, 2005.

David spent his early years in Toronto but has lived from coast to coast in Canada and traveled many parts of the world with his involvement in the mining industry. His songwriting reflects his love of the guitar as his first instrument with beautiful finger picking instrumentals adding to the charm of his melodies. His lively banjo tunes add great variety to the duet's repertoire and provide a change of pace in the performance. David also brings his skills on harmonica and 12-string guitar to the duo's performances.

Carol grew up on a family farm on the South Dakota prairies, which nurtured a love of nature and a desire to live in harmony with it. Her first job (waiting tables at the local bowling alley) enabled the purchase of that first guitar at age 16 and she's been writing and playing ever since. Life has taken her to a variety of locations in the U.S. and Canada and she has been an Ontario resident since 1984. Her writing reflects a broad range of topics, but she may be best known for her humorous views of the trials and tribulations of relationships. Carol plays guitar, mandolin and adds occasional electric bass accompaniment in performance.

A little laughter, a little blues, served up with love and compassion for the human state; David & Carol's performance has something for everyone in their audience.
