I'd say the lyrics for the songs on this album are reasonably well-crafted, but the topics I sing about tend to be a bit quirky: "Sometimes I Wish I Was a Paramecium" is a 1971 fantasy about a female lab partner from my high school biology class. "The Hill" celebrates a 1966 panty raid. "Pink Velvet" is a 1995 account of an imaginary adventure in a strip club. "The Armadillo Sleeps Tonight" is based on some feelings of bitter loneliness I felt in Austin, Texas in the Spring of 1969. "Snow Prince" is another reflection on feelings of loneliness and failure. I've revised the original text I wrote in 1965 so many times I've been tempted to call it "Palimpsest." "Inflatable Woman" is just what you think it is -- a satire on academic feminism. "cross bronx acid trip" is a surrealistic fantasy -- I don't really drive while intoxicated.
Production-wise, the "Twisted Pear" CD for sale on this page is pretty bad. I give much thanks and appreciation to my fans who have been able to see past its technical inadequacies and find in it something of value.

Humorous songs complimented by great imagery. I listen to this album constantly. Well-synced and balanced, the content is deep, mystical, and amusing.

Excellent and entertaining!

This CD is very good. More than half of the songs make me want to dance, laugh, and tell my friends. The artist's voice is perfect for this type of music, and the lyrics are very interesting.
