Album Notes

Before grunge there was Culprit. For a generation that grew up on Kiss, Rush and Black Sabbath, Culprit proved Seattle could rock with the best. As Iron Maiden was to England and Metallica was to San Francisco, Culprit was to Seattle.

Featuring a duel chain-saw guitar attack with the most in-your-face bass player ever. A powerhouse drummer and a vocalist like no other. Culprit delivers what people crave: "High energy" intense metal with great musicianship and vocals. A rather British-sounding vein, complete with cascading duo-guitar runs and one helluva bulldozer rhythm section. Split-second time changes, piercing vocals, staggeringly complex rhythms and dominating power.

Inspired by Culprit, hundreds of Seattleites went on to form bands. In part you can thank Culprit for their influence on Sound Garden, Pearl Jam, Nevermore, Alice-N-Chains, and Queensryche.

This recording will give you a taste of the energy and insanity that is Culprit. Enjoy!

Jenny Bindle (KISW) and I used to admire the skill that Jeff L'Heureux demonstrated in using the removable top on his car to maintain an overall hair height of 8 feet, which put Donny Dokken to shame. He also had the largest collection of colored spandex pants known to man. Most of them were some shade of red, and HE should have been named the Red Rocker because (unlike Sammy H) Jeff actually ROCKED. Jeff was also a great neighbor, always inviting everyone to cool parties and live band events, like the time at Dave Abel's when the house burned down in Kenmore, the party at Mike Wright's before heading to the show at the Kingsgate Skate King, or my birthday party over on Slater with Eric Anderson's band the Raging Hormones. Good times. When's the reunion tour?
