Album Notes

With footings held back to 1998, this four piece band has traveled from Heaven to Hell and back to Purgatory in their neverending pursuit of melodic rock for the masses. Music runs through them from head to toe, like Jagermeister on a Friday night. Playing basements to festivals and bars to women's bedrooms, Curious Yello is a non-stop powerhouse. When asked, "what type of music do you play?" the reply is simple: modern, alternative, avant-garde power pop music with three parts British Rock, two parts emo, a twist of folk, a pinch of garage, a dash of punk, and a whole bunch of major mellow, rhythmic inclusive, non-discriminatory, working man's melodic rock... always served hot, and always on the rocks.

R E V I E W S ::::::

"Once a song starts, it keeps churning along until done, and when presented, it's as crisp and dry as a martini shaken, never stirred... Curious Yello has managed to carve a tight, polished niche out for itself with 'Wish'."
-John Lamb, High Plains Reader

"The disc serves up a tasty blend of melodic rock originals with lyrics exploring everything from relationships with girls to relationships with god."
-From "The 'A' List", by Andrea Berninger, The Fargo Forum

"Curiously, the first album from Fargo-Moorhead natives Curious Yello is anything but yellow. As far as local bands goes, the band's album, 'Wish', glitters more like gold."
-Bronson Lemer; A&E Editor, The Advocate

"There's enough promise in the songwriting that I think we can make room on the market for one more emo band... Most of the songs center on a simple one-note premise, but Curious Yello makes sure they distill these universal emotions and incidents into mesmerizing packages."
-John Hansen, The Spectrum

"You guys have the talent and personalities to go all the way."
-Lyn Nichols, WDAY radio

"If there was ever a band that knows how to party, that band would be Curious Yello."
-Kat Silver, katsilver.com

"In an effort to seem … sensitive and artsy I invited a girl I had a crush on to go out and have a cup of coffee… Curious Yello came in ... I really dug their music. I actually ended up paying more attention to them than the chick. To tell you the truth, this is horrible of me, I can’t even remember who it was that I was with, but I remembered Curious Yello."
-Jeremiah Utecht, Wind from the Plains

I was a fan of The Longest Yard and American Heart, so the CD was a must.
