top dogs of American rock
author: Tim Schwader
I love this band, having first seen them opening for the almighty DADA back in the mid-90s, and this is the 4th disc of theirs that I've purchased. All the elements that make Prescott Curlywolf great are here: killer hooks, great vocals, intelligent lyrics, sincerity in the playing, etc. But this disc seems a bit mellower than their past stuff. Maybe a sign of maturity? There are still some wailing guitars on here, but also a lot more from the country side of things. Highly recommended disc, especially to fans of Dada, Slobberbone, Podunk, Ryan Adams, Wilco, and the like.
