The Curse of Sorrow formed in late 2006, formerly as Brother, in Edwardsville ,Pa.
They play a blend of alternative hard rock and metal, with heavy influence from classic
horror films. The band describe their style as "Grave Rock". While the
music is serious, layered, and anthemic in the vein of some 80's powerhouse metal
bands, the song subjects are sometimes tongue in cheek and fun. That big style mixed with the members onstage charisma and energy, brings the fan a very involved
and fist pumping live set.
Nick Necro - the energetic front man, dumps everything he'sgot into his live shows.
While down on his knees crawling the stage, on top of bars, or standing on speakers, he keeps the crowds attention and includes them with mic in the face sing alongs. He is backed by a hard hitting and talented band made up of Jay Bones ( lead guitar/back
vox), Mark Massacre ( rythm gutar/back vox), Tommy Tombstone (bass/back vox),
and Evil Eric (drums). The band compliments Necro's energetic and heart felt performance with their crowd interaction, bouncing from the stage front, to the top of barriers, and even into the crowd. Members weave in and out on stage making it a show that no one can get away from and one that everyone wants to be involved in.
The band members themselves have many diverse musical influences. Together they have a sound as heavy as Korn and Mudvayne, but aren't afraid to touch on a more delicate side, playing songs that are more reminiscent of 80's ballads. They've shared the stage with national acts such as Wednesday 13, 12 Stones, Dope, The Ataris, Suicide City, Gunfire 76, and The 69 Eyes.
The band's new full length CD "Only a Shadow Remains" is a powerful combination of rock, horror, hard work, and lots and lots of sweat and of course...BLOOD!
