Inspired by the San Francisco Bay Area Music Scene Curt Campbell's influences come from bands such as Steve Miller, Tower of Power, Santana and The Doors. Mesmerized by the harmonica playing of front man Huey Lewis, Curt learned to play the blues by listening to the likes of James Harman Charlie Musselwhite and Norton Buffalo. This album is for true music listeners. It's for people who can pick apart the instruments and recognize what's being played on a recording. This album is considered a work of art.
BIOGRAPHY
Curtis Paul Campbell is an American Record Producer, Singer, Songwriter (BMI), Composer, owner of Beast Release Records and founder of "The Eclectic Beast Band"
History: In 1990 having come in from the field, Curt was consolidating some special operations gear from one bag to the next, when much to his surprise a Harmonica fell out of the medical kit attached to his webgear. Picking up the harmonica his platoon mate "Tim Tofaute", who was sitting across the room announced: "Since you are always singing the blues, I thought I'd buy you a harmonica, because every blues man needs to know how to play one". Looking at the harmonica in the palm of his hand Curt realized that it was an omen, a gift and that it was in his destiny to learn how to play". Curt says: "I really taught myself to play the Blues. When I first started to play I didn't understand the dynamics of playing a Harmonica, nor did I read music. I discovered that I was naturally playing across the grain of the music, which is the nature of the Blues. Once I learned how to play I felt a deep connection in my soul like I had been playing all along. I was sure that I had played in a pre-existent state, or in a past life, as it made my spirit soar. I seemed to play the best when I was down and of course that's the spirit of the blues". A year later during his first rock concert production (The Desert Storm Veterans Memorial Benefit Concert in Fallon, Nevada) Curt was invited to play on stage for the very first time. Frontman Jimmy Woods from the Immortals pushed Curt towards the microphone and said: "go for it brother". Mustering everything in his soul Curt proceeded to play an electrifying performance for the crowd. 7 years later Curt produced (with help from his Family, Friends snd SEAL Brothers) his first cd "Killhouse" under the "Beast Release Records" label. In July of 1998 the Album received a 5 Star Review from the Navy Times, however his Commanding wasn't happy about it. Although he was offered the opportunity to stay in the Navy Curt declined and stated that his operational days had been over for some time and that he wanted to go out into the world and make his way. He admitted that his experiences in the SEAL's had been tumultuous and that he was tired of babysitting drunks and dishonest Presidents...
The Band: The chemistry between the players on this album is remarkable. Garth Webber (on Guitar from Miles Davis), Dewayne Pate (on Bass from The Robben Ford Band, Allman Brothers), The Fabulous Bryant Mills (on Drums from the John Lee Hooker Band), Johnnie Bamont (on the Sax from the Bands like Elvin Bishop, Huey Lewis, Boz Scaggs, Tower of Power, and currently Howard Tate), Tony Lafrano (on Piano from Etta James and Bonnie Rait), Jeff Baxter (Acoustic Guitar/Doobie Bros. and Steely Dan), and the incomparable Carlos Reyes (on the Electrified Fiddle). This album was recorded "Live" at Red Rooster Studios and is considered a work of art.

Turn it up! I'm goin' back in time!
author: Robin Hall
Reminiscent of the style of Alvin Bishop and the rowdiness of J. Giels Band, the Beast stirs the soul of Blues decades forgotten. The music brings forth memories of dimly lit roadside bars with gravel drives; the smell of stale beer and blue hues of cigarette smoke hanging idle in a room pounding with heel-driving energy.
Yeah, I'm feelin' froggy. Watch me jump, Motherfucker.
