Album Notes

New York City native, Emily Curtis began studying music in early childhood and continued her study of the piano at the High School of Performing Arts, where she also played cello and bass in student orchestras.
While in college, Emily taught herself guitar and began writing songs. Soon after, she was performing in New York clubs and coffee houses including The Bitter End and CB's Gallery.

In 1999, Emily released her independent CD, "Radiate." The CD garnered much attention for the young singer/songwriter, including a feature article in Billboard. It also landed a track on the critically acclaimed, "Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Album."

Emily's voice and writing style have been compared to such influential artists as Carol King, Sheryl Crow, and Joni Mitchell. It is this artistry that recently won her slot as a finalist in the Indie Band Search 2001.

Emily spent his year in the studio with NYC producer Daniel Wise, and has just released her new self-titled full length album. Currently she is touring the east coast, where she has shared stages with the Steve Miller Band, Patti Rothberg, Melissa Ferrick, and Paul Westerberg.

Finely crafted songs...

This CD is filled with finely crafted songs with intelligent lyrics, something you don't often find in today's music. Emily's vocals are unique and flawless, singing of love and life in a fun, light-hearted way. Nothing heavy here. This music is worthy of radio airplay and has been featured on Independent radio. I really recommend it without reservation. (Even my mom has a copy).
