Album Notes
The Skeptic & the Cynic is the debut album of Winnipeg-based drummer Curtis Nowosad. It is a collection of instrumental jazz covers by popular artists such as Bob Marley, Pink Floyd, Joni Mitchell, Michael Jackson, 2pac, and Black Star, as well as two brand-new original compositions. The album features a powerhouse line-up: Nowosad on drums, Jimmy Greene on tenor saxophone, Derrick Gardner on trumpet, Will Bonness on piano and keyboards, Steve Kirby and Julian Bradford on bass, and special guests Laurent Roy on guitar and two-time Grammy Nominee Taylor Eigsti on piano. The band navigates these unlikely vehicles in a masterful way, lending their distinct voices to Nowosad’s musical vision.
