Album Notes

If you've been searching for a contemporary eclectic hybrid of pop-infused jazz-rock-R&B music, then look no further.

At long last Curtis Winchester, the seasoned Westchester, NY based vocalist and DJ, brings his “10,000 Kilowatt” smile and dynamic vocal style out front for his debut CD, "Do the Natural Thing".

Nearly 3 years in the making, "Do the Natural Thing" is a compellingly original music experience produced for Stoopid Daddy Records by multimedia artist Scott Staton and Grammy Award winning producer/engineer Larry Alexander.

This 10 track CD features a who's who of NY based musicians including Grammy Nominated guitarist Gil Parris, former NY Yankee and guitarist Bernie Williams, Frank Vilardi on drums, Kip Sophos on bass, Dan Cipriano on sax, Nicole Hart on vocals, John Ragusa on flute and Rob Papparozzi on harmonica.

"Do the Natural Thing" is a potpourri of music styles, genres and well-crafted songs: ballad (Carry On, a tribute to Curtis' long-time friend, the late Steven Scenna), pop-smooth-jazz (Summer Love, a cool summertime excursion), jazz-rock (Perfect Geometry) dance (Lookin’ for Love, featuring Curtis with Gil Parris, Bernie Williams and Dan Cipriano) jazz-rock (High Maintenance) mid-tempo R&B (Tomorrow's Promised to No One) old school R&B (Do the Natural Thing, one of Denny Leroux's best tunes, with John Ragusa on flute) funk-jazz-rock (Talkin’ Trash... with a Gil Parris classic guitar solo to boot) slow funk-jazz ballad (In a Byte, a tune about a woman who discovers her husband has been murdered while watching the evening news, featuring another scorching Gil Parris guitar solo) and a final mid-tempo-ballad (Take Me Upstairs, with a soulful New Orleans trumpet solo by Michael Giradot)

You'll want to listen again and again.
