notes

Cut Throat was formed in 1997 by a group of talented, hard-working musicians. Tired of being told what type of music they should play, Cut Throat decided to go against the pervasive Grunge grain to play the hard rock music they love. Their defiance has paid off. After only a short time, they are taking hard rock and metal to a new generation. This all-original band has developed a strong local following, despite the recent lethargy of the L.A. music scene, by delivering its signature hard-hitting, energetic live performances. With the release of their self-titled, debut CD, along with a strong internet presence, Cut Throat has sparked international attention from both fans and magazines, fanzines, labels, and music-based websites.

Cut Throat's current line-up is led by vocalist Sean Okin, whose raw vocal ability contributes to the band's distinctive sound. The guitar team of Darwin DeVitis and Ken Snyder each bring his own unique guitar style to this hard-driving mix: speedy, yet melodic with a heavy twist. Bassist John Anderson and drummer Ramsay Bisharah provide the solid, rhythmic foundation on which the music is built.

Cut Throat has shared the stage with some of rock's heaviest hitters, including Yngwie Malmsteen, Warrant, Sebastian Bach, Slaughter, W.A.S.P., Tesla, L.A. Guns, Bullet Boys, Love/Hate, Flotsam and Jetsam, Babylon A.D., and Gilby Clark. Even amongst such proven acts, Cut Throat's talents have not escaped the rock media. The Unscene, a web site dedicated to promoting up-and-coming unsigned bands, named Cut Throat Band of the Month in August 1999. Rock City News awarded the band "Best Metal Band" in Los Angeles, also in 1999.

Cut Throat has what it takes to bring hard rock to a scene hungry for music that is loud, heavy, and straight from the gut.

    author: Brandon

Wow, what a release. Like it's S/T predecessor this album really packs a punch. Heavy and in your face. If you liked Skid Row's Slave to the Grind or Heavier melodic metal, pick this one up!

My parade, pulling teeth and painted black are brilliant songs. The music on this disc is one you can rock out to when you are having a bad day.I am reminded of SKID ROW when I listen to Sean's voice. There are 48 minutes of great hard rock music on here.Get it now!

  • Too f**king awesome

    Too f**king awesome....nuff said!

  • SKID ROW ARE BACK! WELL, KINDA...
    author: Stevie St Ford

This album benefits from a better production job than the debut, and the songs excel as a result! An undiscovered gem, should be far better known within the genre in which they ply their trade. If you like Skid Row and mourn the demise of Seb Bach, you could do a lot worse than check these guys out, who are similar in style.

  • Where have these guys been hiding?
    author: J.T.

These Guys are Phonominal. Amazing songs, vocals, and guitar GODS. Where have they been hiding? Well if they are touring I will be up front banging my head. It's like the 80's came back with a Godsmack attitude. I love this CD, and the second one rocks too (the Purple one with Dead Man Walking)

  • These boys are out of this world
    author: Kimmy

I can't believe what my ears heard when I put this CD in my car stereo. Where did these guys come from? Where can I see them? This is like all of my favorite 80's bands with a new kind of energy. The vocals and guitar playing send shivers down my spine and make my nipples hard. Hope to see these boys on Ozzfest this year. Everyone trust me Cut Throat rocks!
