Album Notes

"Clay began writing songs at age 13, and has now become a published songwriter. His songs reflect a diverse, distinctive, and tastefully unique style all his own."
-Clay's wife Rebecca

Mento Music Group from Hamburg, Germany published "Cinemagic" in 1998. "Cinemagic" from "Whispers in the Wind" is a bit like a jazzy 4 minute aural orgasm! Twice I've placed in the Unisong song contest's top 10% for the songs, "When I First Met You," and "Cinemagic."

My music is melodic, evocative, and I'm told unusual, and the lyrics say something different, entertaining, and meaningful. The lyrics are included with "Whispers in the Wind."

In the early summer days of 1970 when I was 13, I just needed $22.00 to buy a Silvertone acoustic guitar from Sears. On July 10th I bought the guitar, and was even more thrilled than 4 years earlier when my folks bought me a baritone ukulele. Then a month later on August 17th I wrote my first song entitled "I Just Know." Since then I've written some 300 songs.

I've been influenced by The Beatles, Yes, Genesis, Joni Mitchell, Santana, Steely Dan, Burt Bacharach, and The Beach Boys just to name a few, but my music is still able to preserve its own uniqueness and originality.

Currently my songs have an 'Open File' for publishing with Rustron Music Publishers in West Palm Beach, Florida. I live in Sarasota, Florida, which is 50 miles south of Tampa. If you have any questions or comments, I'd be most interested to hear from you! You can e-mail me at soundplays@yahoo.com. I'm a member of ASCAP and NSAI. Enjoy the music!
