cyanogen is an ongoing solo project, ushered into existence by the chicken pox. (No, I didn't start by writing songs about the illness itself.) I just had so much time on my hands that I ended up asking myself, "What is something I've been meaning to do for a long time?" Then the answer revealed itself... "Write and record music". The name cyanogen actually came from the movie version of Dragnet. There was one scene where a character mentioned a liquid gas called cyanogen that was kept below freezing in railroad tanker cars. It sounded mysterious and industrial, which was just what I wanted. (I suppose my music is more of the former than the latter, but there's still time to change that. Heh.)
Influences include: Angelo Badalamenti (Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, Lost Highway), Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, Rush, Tony MacAlpine, Yngwie Malmsteen, Black Sabbath, Alan Parsons Project, Tears for Fears, The Cure and many more.
