Album Notes

The Cyrus Clarke Expedition is a neo-folk quartet based in Santa Barbara, California. Clarke has been performing and writing his own brand of acoustic music for over thirty years, starting in 1972 when he founded the Cache Valley Drifters with David West. He has continued this tradition with the Acousticats, the Cyrus Clarke Band and now his latest group, the Expedition.

The band includes mandolin wizard Mike Mullins who is a current member of the Drifters and co-founder of the Acousticats with Clarke. Mike has over thirty recordings to his credit and is widely known as a blazing instrumentalist and tasteful writer. Rounding out the quartet are Jack Joshua, currently the bassist for the Tatters and various 21st century music ensembles and Barney Tower who brings supersonic twang on his Telecaster. The Cyrus Clarke Expedition plays music from the heartland of California.

Clarke's discography includes four albums for Flying Fish Records and five CDs on his own label, Ranch Recording. His songs have been recorded and performed by Kate Wolf, David West, the Phil Salazar Band and others. His latest recording, "The Road to California" will be released in Spring, 2003.
