Album Notes

Everything started in 2001 as a pastime between rum and rum…Actually, they define themselves as a band of “bons vivants” and, as a local inspired journalist wrote, “artists who offer pieces of their soul for each one of their listeners and for each musical note”. They tune their own songs with gusto and a peculiar combination of rhythms coming from each corner of the world. Their ambition is to work hard to keep on creating that special atmosphere and that unique ambiance full of passion and romanticism, carrier of a message of love and brotherhood, hope and a profound aspiration towards a better world.

Lucho Gonzalez, musician and composer, at his piano with Aldo Bettini, the songwriter of the band, lead voice and acoustic guitar player, are the founders and hard core of D40. They are accompanied by the tremendously talented Herbert Urena at the percussion and Alvarito Ramirez at the drums, who both highly contribute to the D40 fusion created by the Colombian Panamanian Lucho and the Italian born Aldo, who studied and lived most of his life in France.

Both Aldo - in Monte Carlo - and Lucho - in Cartagena - had a band when they were teenagers. Now both entrepreneurs, they made the decision to achieve their dream: become what their soul was deeply craving for.

Vocals & guitar: Aldo
