Album Notes

This first solo CD from Heart of the City Worship Band leader and songwriter features a whopping 17 songs - 16 of which are written by the artist and one by Darlene Zschech. The musical styles include blues/rock, modern worship, reggae and acoustic guitar based ballads. The Bible tells us that as Christians, we are constantly in a battle between the desires of our flesh and the desires of the Holy Spirit of God who dwells within us. This project addresses that battle from many angles. There are songs of exhortation - calling us out of indulgence and into holiness. There are songs of struggle, failure and confession. There are prayers for revival and change and dependence on God. And there are songs of gratitude and worship for the amazing, sustaining grace of God in this very real battle.
