Dag King - One Night In A Kingdom
Dag Kare Dybdahl (Dag King) takes a lot from classic rockers, at times reminding me of a modernized Dire Straits. Dag's unhurried delivery and smooth vocal timings sparkle with his guitar work, which in turn is bouyed by more accented guitar work from Peter Blohm. This 8 song disc, cut in Denmark and remastered by Jeff Allen @ Jamworks, shows Dag King has a place in America with his excellent arrangements that make his songs stand out and beg you to let them take you to those places only good music can. That's not to say there isn't a large European market for this, but I'd take a bet that the continental 48 is the place for this artist to make a name for himself. The self titled opener is a good choice for a single, and "Can We Only Hold The Night" is definite playlist material. It is thick harmonies and smack of the snare on "20 Miles" that will perk the ears up, it's a sure classic, and one that cannot be ignored. Contact: http://www.dagking.com
