notes

Big Zeke Productions proudly presents its first volume of hit music ever assembled on one CD. If you ever thought such a CD could exist...we present "Da Gumbo Vol. 1". The first installment of original tracks herald by some as "cutting edge".

Our vision was to produce records that offer the music consumer a true choice. Sometimes not always popular but music we believe in. What is it? Music that is created in its purist form not influenced by charts or popularity. We believe our volumes will be the future model of record producing...Experience...BZP Presents...Da Gumbo Vol. 1.

As the name implies, "Gumbo" is a mix of different flavors and ingredients...just like our first project. Seven musical forms fused together with carefully crafted production. And 18+ artists to compliment the instrumentals.

Production equipment used on this CD included a Korg Triton, MPC 2000, 4000, E-mu Proteus 1000 & 2000 sound modules. And was recorded using Ensoniq: PARIS (Professional Audio Recording Integrated System). This was also the same recording device that was used on Alicia Keys' Songs in A Minor, Grammy winning album.

The album was produced by Fonseca "Zeke" Woodruff and engineered by Will Wilson who mixed Tech N9ne's music.

author: Gena Tinsley [Hip/Hop-R&B Consultant for cdstreet

I was checking out some of the artists on your cdstreet page, and I was wondering when 3AM's cd is going to be released? I heard a sample of them on your website and I was pleasantly suprised! They sound _*just*_ as good as they look...........and that's hard to do ;-) I'd love to feature them on our site more, so any info would be greatly appreciated. I hope all is well in Olathe KS, we're holding it down here in Dallas :-) Take Care.

  • Feelin the laid back vibe!
    author: Syn

In an era of southern driven crunkness, the production on this cd is a breath of fresh air. The tracks where R&B and Hip Hop come together are the albums definite highlights, not to mention the skills of the MC's and vocalists. Keep doin tha damn thang! Midwest!

  • "Welcome to Kansas City" receives my vote for sample use

I've just received the CD and reviewed it. Man, I want to say how great this is!! This is an excellent track. The female vocals in particular are exuberant, and the melodic part they sing; and I really like their giveittomegiveittomegiveittome. I'll now run it past our client to try to obtain his approval, so stay tuned; but in the meantime, I just wanted to say how good I think the song is.

  • Album Brings Together Hip- Hop Artists From Around Kansas
    author: The Daily Union

1)...It is the first time that the best of Kansas hip-hop artists have appeared on an album. 2)One of the best tracks on the album is Midwest Shuffle, which has a St. Lunatic flow and a catchy rhyme scheme 3)Another artist that stands out is Ten-10, a Jamaican born musician who sounds every bit like Shaggy...
