Album Notes

Dale Brown's lyrics portray a broad range of observations and emotions, from humorous jabs at marriage, to thoughts of a soldier far from home, from serious spirituals, to witty shots at human insanity. The sound of his guitar does the same. His harmonica sings the blues and at times cries mystery. His life as an artist, writer, missionary, from Alaska to Haiti, from London to Salt Lake, gives grit to his tunes that carry some punch.

Dale's style and performance appeals to the dinner crowd where Jesus might have turned water into wine, while giving them something to meditate on during the trip home. In his lyrics one might catch a hint of his experience once living aboard his yacht and cruising the waters of Alaska and Canada. "Soldiers of Destiny", his fifth CD, is surely a keeper. The song "The Soldier" speaks to past and present as soul-searching soldiers ponders their situation, especially those who have trodden the Middleast in battle array. This collection of Brown noise (not Brown nose) steps it up a bit from earlier material with rich bass lines and more percussion and drums.

Though it was given a good review in England, this collection of tunes had the folks at www.crossrhythms,co.uk scratching their heads a bit. We gotta keep them Brits on their toes.

On youtube you can find "The Soldier" listed under "apologiamixer".
