Soulful. Relevant. Amazing. Music for Lovers!
author: Alex O'Brien
Dale Morgan has served up an honest, innovative collection of tunes that will soon monopolize your hi-fi. Borrowing the sweetest elements from innumerable "genres", the well-seasoned musician has created a delicious goulash of pure sonic bliss. Lyrically, FEEL LIKE LIFE speaks to us about the pursuit of beauty in the modern world and of the pursuit of love in the modern woman. Extremely accessible, discreetly sublime; this is my favorite record of 2008, thus far.

Upbeat, fun CD
author: Judy Mitchell
I LOVE this CD. It makes me cheerful and want to dance. My favorites are Feel Like Life, This Ground (love that Spaghetti western sound, and opening lines "The rich man's shadow is the poor man's shade") and my very favorite, When I Get Cold ... And Stay That Way: "Woke up this morning wild and free, I forgot who I was supposed to be. ... best thing that's ever happened to me." I try and do that every day now.
I like that the lyrics are in the insert, and the little thumbnail photos and the vignettes about each song are fun. Nice work overall. Judy Mitchell, Bakersfield, CA

Sly, quirky and fun
author: brewsbee
Say what? This offbeat debut by Dale Morgan left me with furrowed eyebrows and a smile on my face. Stylistically, it’s all over the place, from the reggae-ish opening of "I Feel Like Life Today" to the bluesy "Mr. Blues" to the folkish ballad "Sailin’ On." But it’s all toe-tapping fun, with catchy tunes that will stick with ya. ("Feel Like Life" has been a tape loop in my brain for three days.) "I’m Falling in Love (and I’m Taking You with Me)" is the quirkiest of the lot, and the only song I know with Stephen Hawking in the lyrics. A perfect vehicle for Diana Krall in a petulant mood. And you’d think by now somebody else would have written a global warming song announcing that “the climes they are a’ changin’”, but "Honest Earth" may the first. Morgan’s acoustic guitar is agile and tasty throughout, plus he gets able support from his son Izzy on vocals (Feel Like Life) and Ken Johnston on lead and slide guitars. Okay, a couple fillers here, but overall a disc well worth the wait. And Morgan’s ardent fans on the extreme North Coast of California have been waiting for a loooong time.
