Album Notes

Although he’s been dabbling in music his entire life, Dale Reynolds started dreaming true in earnest just a few years ago. The ground was fertile after a lifetime of preparation starting with backyard concerts as a 10-year-old singing Hank Williams and Beatles tunes in Anderson, SC to fronting mainstream and alternative garage bands in the suburbs north of Boston, MA as a young adult covering everything from the Alarm to X.

Having honed his craft as a solo performing songwriter at open mikes, coffee houses and bars throughout New England for the past few years, Dale Reynolds is releasing his first studio recording. The EP title reflects the growth he has experienced as a performer who understands songs are best when shared simply and honestly in the moment - and that’s “never the same way twice”.

His songs and live performances feel as familiar as a cherished pair of worn and torn jeans fresh out of a wash of all in this together.

Join him on a folk, rock, pop, alt-country journey through life’s moments. You’ll be dancing in the aisles and wiping away tears with a heartfelt smile from sharing snapshots in song that we all travel on our way to becoming genuine.

REVIEWS

hippo press review gives it an A

Dale Reynolds, Never the Same Way Twice self-released, 2008 An open-mike regular at Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry, Reynolds is based out of North Andover, Mass. Next month he hats out for his first festival in Oregon, where he hopes that this nine-song collection will lead to riches, fame and a harem of middle-aged hotties, and who am I to put the kibosh on that. Toward the Mighty Wind end of things, Reynolds is like any of your own upstanding New England neighbors plonking away at the acoustic guitar on the back porch, offering a few gentle folkie numbers (“About to Fly,” “Places in My Mind”) that most readily identify with modern Americana purveyors Golden Smog and Magic Car, which is really just a hip way of saying Pete Seeger and/or Woody Guthrie. But our boy isn’t one to sit back and get lost in the hairy-legged shuffle, preferring instead to roll the dice on swampy gospel-blues (“Say Baby”), a not-bad Tom Petty does Dylan imitation (“Around This Place”) and a metal-shoegaze acid-rock Cheney-hating dirge that’ll surely find the ZZ-Top-bearded oldsters in Oregon standing up with their Bics flicked while a couple of straights scream at them to sit down (“Gather ‘Round”).
