Dale Watson isn't one to uphold the music industry's status quo. He's moving forward on his own terms and true to his own convictions. Even with frequent proclamations declaring him one of country music's last authentic voices (like that in Crazy Again--a recent documentary on Watson's life--when a fan declares, "son, you play country like country was when country was country").
A slight departure from his hard core country roots,
Help Your Lord is Watsons first Gospel album and as he states a direct fulfillment of a promise he made to his maker.
" In 2002, when I was in a hotel room in Milan struggling with Satan himself, I told God if he delivered me from the Devil , I would write a book about my experience with the Ouija board that led me to that Hell and write and record a gospel album. The gospel album is recorded and the book will be done in March of 2008. Recorded in November of 2002 this is the very first time the CD has been presented to the public.
