Album Notes

Damascus Dawn is a diverse group of people dedicated to one goal: proclaiming the love of God through music. They come from various ethnic backgrounds, musical backgrounds and varying marital status, and that is one of the things they love about their group, as they feel it accurately portrays God's Kingdom.

The band was formed in 2005 in Overland Park, KS. It was originally founded as an all girl guitar band, but quickly expanded to include men and instruments other than guitars. The message they hope to spread is that God loves the brokenhearted--the orphan, the rejected, the outcast. Even when the whole world throws you away, He will be there.

Damascus Dawn is:

Michelle Scott Redmon, Acoustic Guitar, Lead Vocals, Songwriter. Originally from Topeka, KS, but currently lives in Overland Park, KS with her husband and manager, Scott, and their rambunctious 4 year old. In addition to ministering with Damascus Dawn, Michelle leads worship in the children's ministry at Sheffield Family Life Center.

Lannae Mahan, Bass, Background Vocals. Lannae is also from Topeka--in fact, at one point she and Michelle went to high school together, but didn't meet until she moved to KC and started attending Sheffield.

John Mahan, Lead Guitar. John is originally from California. Currently, he lives in Kansas City Kansas, with his wife Lannae and several cats. John is a former member of the Christian metal band Saint.

Bruce Kittle, drums. Bruce is married with two daughters. In addition to playing drums, he is a graphic artist. He has also been involved in children's and youth ministry for several years.

Deborah Young, keyboards. Deborah is multi-talented. Besides playing keyboards, she's a writer, movie reviewer and composer--in addition to her day job at the same office where Lannae works.
