Something for Everyone

This CD has it all, great grooves, phenomenal musicianship, singable melodies, and seemingly telepathic communication between the players! Full of life and energy, this is modern "fusion" at it's best. There are insane technical bits to please fans of Return to Forever or Mahavishnu, mixed with beautiful melodic interplay like The Yellowjackets at their finest. Erskine is obviously in an elite class of technical players (as is drummer Embick), but his real talents showcased here are writing and arranging. These are artful, organic songs. They have a wonderful ambient space to them, as if you're just hanging out with the band while they jam in a rehearsal space. Simply put, if you like original and creative music, buy this CD. Support a working musician!

To borrow a phrase from Steve Jobs at Apple Computer, this album is "Insanely Great!". Great grooves. Great songs. Great playing. What more can I say, except that as great as this album is, the band is even more amazing to see in action playing live gigs.
